Taras Shevchenko's bust in Copenhagen was opened in September 2010.

Its creation was initiated by Ukrainian embassy in Copenhagen and Danish-Ukrainian society. Main part of expences was covered by former ambassador of Ukraine Pavlo Riabykin. Another part was provided by the oldest veteran of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army in Scandinavia Petro Balytskyi and Ivan Nester. Monument's author is Ukrainian sculptor Sergiy Boguslavskyi, who live in Copenhagen.

The monument is situated not far from the building where diplomatic mission of Ukrainian People's Republic worked (memorial tablet confirms that).
