The church was built in 1636-1643 and primary was catholic.

In 1808 it was passed to greek-catholic community.

In 1947 greek-catholic church was closed by communists.

Gree-catholic church was restored in 1998.

Some sources indicate that Stepan Bandera got married in this church.

Stepan Bandera lived his last years in Munich with his family since 1954.

15.10.1959 he was assassinated by KGB agent Bohdan Stashynsky, using a spray gun that fired a jet of poison gas from a crushed cyanide capsule. Two years earlier Stashynsky assassinated Lev Rebet.

Stepan Bandera was burried in Munich Waldfriedhof cemetery (field 43) on 20.10.1959.
