15.10.1959 Степан Бандера був вбитий агентом КДБ Богданом Сташинським. Сташинський зі спеціального пістолета вистрілив в обличчя Степану Бандері струменем розчину ціанистого калію. Він же двома роками раніше вбив Лева Ребета.
20.10.1959 року Степана Бандеру поховали на мюнхенському цвинтарі Вальдфрідгоф на 43 полі.
